Instagram just launched an updated version of their hugely popular iOS application. This update includes a neat feature where users can see their photos arranged on a map of where the pictures were actually taken. Pretty cool right? Here are 7 things you need to know about Instagram's Update:

1) This is the second major update to Instagram since Facebook purchased it back in April, 2012.  The first update secured the app's Facebook integration (obviously). 2) Today's upgrade is concentrated on improving the overall user experience.

3) The biggest upgrade included in Instagram's iOS update is the Photo Maps feature.  Instagram users can now decide to to have new pictures added to a map.  They also have the ability to add older pictures to the map if they want.  The map is zoomable and it's available on each user's public profile. 4) Another more illusive update is that the user's profile page includes bigger photos making it easier to find older pictures. 5)  The photo upload feature has been redesigned moving away from the list of social services for sharing pictures using buttons instead. 6)  Thankfully, users can now scroll through an infinite number of pictures instead of tapping that pesky old "load more" button. 7) Another great update is the ability to report spammy comments left on photos.  This is especially useful if you're like Kim Kardashian and receive 2000+ comments per photo. With over 80 million users to date, Instagram is definitely the photo app of choice for both Android and iPhone users.  Today's user-experience-focused update solidifies its place on smartphones across the globe! Instagram is a free application available for download from iTunes here.
