Extreme Skater by Miniclip.com in this week's iTunes Free App of the Week. It's compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad and requires iOS 3.1.2 or later. The average customer rating is 4.5 stars based on 1547 ratings for the current version.
Extreme Skater is easy to play, fast paced and filled with lots of unlockables. It's very similar to its predecessor, iStunt 2, which is definitely a good thing. Extreme Skater is tilt controlled and very responsive. It's also very forgiving for all the newbies out there. The storyline to Extreme Skater is that an entity hit Earth and you have to collect pieces of dislodged crystal. The main goal is to pass all 72 levels to get the bright aqua crystalline beacon. There are coins scattered through the levels which you can trade in for cosmetic upgrades and to learn new tricks. Once you complete all the objectives and find out all the shortcuts, you'll be deemed an Extreme Skater.
The storyline is a bit corny and the tilt controlling can be a little annoying. Other than that, Extreme Skater is fun free app.
You can download Extreme Skater from the App Store for free until this Wednesday. After that, it will go back to $0.99. Try the free web version of Extreme Skater here. Review by D.i.D.
